A commitment ceremony is performed when two people commit their lives to one another in a way similar to a wedding. It includes the exchanging of vows and rings between the couple and often readings, poems and any desired rituals the couple wishes to include. It can include music and even walking down the aisle.
It is a ceremonious affirmation of your commitment to each other and used as an alternative to marriage, however, it is not legally binding.
The duration of this ceremony is approximately 10-15 minutes.
A vow renewal is a celebratory ceremony for a married couple to reaffirm their commitment to each other. Some couples reaffirm their vows every year on their anniversary. They are especially popular on milestone anniversaries (10, 25 or 50 years)
They have become especially popular in the past few years as we are seeing couples renewing their vows as early as after one year of marriage. COVID-19 restrictions enforced many couples to have a smaller guest lists at the time of their wedding and they now feel they would like to celebrate by having a larger reception and celebrating in a big way with as many family and friends as they wish.
Should you wish to renew your wedding vows, there is no right or wrong time to do it; it’s really when the time is right for you. The important thing to bear in mind is that it all comes down to honouring your commitment to your spouse and this can occur at any stage of your marriage.
The duration of this ceremony is approximately 10-15 minutes.
A Naming ceremony is a personalised and meaningful way to celebrate and welcome a new addition to the family. It is a non-religious alternative to a formal Christening and is used to officially name your child in front of your family and friends, and make promises for the future together.
It is also the opportunity to appoint a guide parent/s; someone who holds a meaningful place in your life and who will act as a role model and provide support for your child.
You can include the guide parent/guardian in the ceremony and anyone else who is special to your child. You can even get a bit more creative with their title and choose whatever holds a special meaning for you!
The benefits of a celebrant-led ‘Naming’ ceremony are enormous. I will create the ceremony around your family and its’ individual story with the intention of providing a space where families can come together to unite and bond.
Having three children of my own, I regard naming ceremonies as such happy and joyous occasions; all in the name of this special person and latest addition to the family.
The duration of this ceremony is approximately 10-15 minutes.
